RULES AND CONDITIONS
FISHING TIMES

ENTRY CATAGORIES
- Senior Entry: One entry to Senior Competition and Major Random Prize Draw: $60.00 Inc GST
- Junior Entry: One entry to Junior Competition and Junior Prize Draw: $25.00 Inc GST
- Family Entry: Two entries to Senior Competition and Major Random Prize Draw and Two entries to Junior Competition and Junior Prize Draw: $120.00 Inc GST
Junior Entrants must be under 16 years of age up to and including the last day of the competition and not less than 3 years of age at the commencement of the competition.
Incomplete entry forms will not be processed.
HOW TO ENTER
1. Simply fill an entry form including payment details, attach a passport size photograph of each person appearing on the entry form and post to:

No individual may be entered in the event more than once.
NOTE: A Competitor will not be deemed to be accepted until such time that funds tendered i.e. cheque or money order are cleared in the normal course of banking. If a cheque or money order is dishonoured for any reason whatsoever the Competitor or Associate is responsible for reimbursement of any banking fees incurred by the Expo. A bank cheque inclusive of any banking fees incurred will be required as replacement for any cheque or money order dishonoured. Likewise payments made by credit card will not be deemed to be accepted until the payment has been processed and paid.
FESTIVAL PACKS
Each entrant must collect their Festival Pack from the Competition Headquarters at Brighton Le Sands Amateur Fisherman's Association prior to fishing. These packs will contain Entrant Photo Tags which entrants must carry at all times. They will also contain lots of extra useful information.
ENTRANT PHOTO TAGS
Each entrant will receive a photo identification tag. These must be presented by the entrant when weighing fish and when claiming prizes. Lost Entrant Photo tags may be replaced at a cost of $10
FISHING COMPETITION CATAGORIES
The Sydney Easter Fishing Festival includes a Catch and Release as well as a Catch and Keep a section. Fish presented for weighing in the Catch and Release section will be displayed in the Reef Science Tank prior to release back into Botany Bay . Anglers are encouraged to participate in the eco-friendly Catch and Release Section and a large prize pool will be on offer.
Anglers must fish in accordance with current NSW DPI Recreational Fishing Regulations.
WEIGH-IN TIMES
Live Fish : Saturday and Sunday, 8.00am to 5.00pm, Monday 8.00 to Noon.
Dead Fish : Saturday and Sunday, 3.00pm to 5.00pm, Monday 11.00 to Noon.
NOTE: Competitors must present their Entrant Photo Tag when weighing fish.
ELIGIBLE FISH SPECIES AND MINIMUM LENGTHS
Only eligible species of each category will be accepted by the weigh master and must be equal to or greater than the minimum length as listed.

PLEASE NOTE: Only one fish of each species may be presented for weighing in the Catch and Release section at any one time .
CARE OF LIVE FISH
It is the responsibility of the angler to ensure that fish are presented to the Weigh Master in a fit and healthy condition. Anglers are encouraged to keep and transport fish in a holding tank of no less than 40 litres. The water capacity of holding tanks should reflect the size and species of fish to be held. Changing the water regularly will help ensure the health of the fish.
Note : Battery operated aerators will be for sale for $5.00 each at Competition Headquarters.
Live Fish must be presented at the weigh station in a healthy state. The Weigh Master may deem a fish unfit for release into the Reef Science Tank. Such fish will be returned to the angler who may wish to enter the fish in the Dead Fish Section.

PLEASE NOTE: Only one fish of each species may be presented for weighing in the Dead Fish section each day .
Dead fish presented to the scales must be gilled and gutted. They will be returned to the angler immediately.
PRIZE CATAGORIES
Senior Division: Heaviest of each species. Awarded Daily.
Junior Division: Heaviest of each species. Awarded Daily.
In the event of a draw where 2 anglers each catch the prize will be awarded to the first recorded entrant.
FISHING COMPETITION PRIZE PRESENTATION
A presentation of major prizes fishing competition and the drawing of the Major Random Prize will take place between at 4:00pm on Monday, 24th March.
RANDOM PRIZE DRAWS
Random prize draws will take place no earlier than 5.30 pm on Saturday and again at 5.30 pm on Sunday. Sydney Easter Fishing Festival entrants will be eligible to win prizes each evening.
NOTE: All random prize winners must present themselves to claim their prize within 2 minutes of their name being announced. They must present their Entrant Photo tag.
BOATING SAFETY
All persons operating vessels must follow all current NSW Waterways Regulations.
FRAUD
Any evidence of fraud or any action in defiance of the rules and goodwill of the competition will be placed in the hands of the police in attendance.
The competition organisers reserve the right of absolute disqualification in the event of specified breaches of rules occurring. The Brighton Le Sands Amateur Fisherman's Association retains the right to withhold any cash prizes or trophies pending investigation.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
As a condition of entry into the Sydney Easter fishing Festival, I agree to waive all and any claim, right or cause of action which I may have against the organisers, or its agents or assigns for or arising out of my death, injury, damage or loss of any kind (including equipment) which I may suffer or sustain by participating in the Competition. I have read the conditions of entry and agree to be bound by.
OTHER CONDITIONS
The Management shall have the absolute right to exclude anyone from the competition without giving any reason whatsoever.
The competitor, by way of Official Entry, notes and acknowledges that the Brighton Le Sands Amateur Fisherman's Association accepts no liability for any injury, loss or damage to any person or property in the course of the competition when such injury or loss is due, or alleged to be due to any act, neglect or default on the part of the Brighton Le Sands Amateur Fisherman's Association or of any official or agency thereof, and all competitors fully understand that in so participating they do so entirely at their own risk and agree to abide by all rules and regulations.
The Management reserves the right to postpone the Fishing time prior to or during the competition for any section or trophy category.
Any action, incident, or situation not covered by the rules and conditions written in this brochure shall be determined Co-jointly by the Official Judge or Acting Official Judge of the Fishing "Sydney Easter Fishing Festival" and the organising committee if or when those conditions arise. Their decision is final.
It is a condition of entry in this amateur competition that any participant agrees to the use of his or her image at no cost to and for promotional purposes by the organising committee.
